Hot Buttered Rum - Sweet home city of San Francisco

Hot Buttered Rum (also known as Hot Buttered Rum String Band and HBRSB) is an American five-piece progressive bluegrass act based in the San Francisco Bay area of California. Their aim is to weave together the traditions of folk and bluegrass with the modern influences of rock-n-roll, reggae and acoustic singer/songwriters. The group values creativity in both its instrumental work and its songwriting.
The group's most notable performances to date have included sets at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the Newport Folk Festival, South by Southwest, High Sierra Music Festival, Bonnaroo Music Festival, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. They have also headlined The Fillmore in their home city of San Francisco. They have performed with a wide array of artists, including Phil Lesh, Ben Harper, Chris Thile, Bela Fleck, Peter Rowan, and Bill Nershi. Well Oiled Machine, HBR's studio album, produced by Mike Marshall and featuring guest appearances by Peter Rowan and Darol Anger, was released in early 2006.
Hot Buttered Rum actively encourages the taping and trading of our live performances for non-commercial purposes. Tapers are encouraged to bring microphones to shows, as soundboard patches cannot be guaranteed and are available only upon express advance consent.
