Richie Sambora - The King of Swing

Richie Sambora is the lead guitarist for rock band Bon Jovi. Between 1990 and 1992, the band members went their separate ways for a while to refocus before writing and recording their next album. This time off also helped them determine where Bon Jovi would fit within the rapidly changing music scene upon their return. Jon Bon Jovi recorded a solo album, a soundtrack to the movie "Young Guns II". On his side Sambora first solo outing was "Stranger In This Town" in 1991, a blues-influenced album that was received well by many critics and guitar affectionados. Richie's life long dream came true when guitar legend Eric Clapton agreed to make an appearance on the album and played the detailed solo for the track Mr Bluesman. However, although the album featured all the songs of a highly talented song writer, it did not fare too well commercially which Richie later admitted was due to the fact that he was writing songs from an artistic point, rather than writing a radio oriented album. However, the album did consolidate Richie as a top rate guitarist, revealing a different side of him that was not widely recognisable during Bon Jovi's 80s heyday. His blues influences would later be present on some of Bon Jovi records as well, notably on 1995's "These Days".

Bon Jovi - Have A Nice Day tour 2006

BONJOV001The Have A Nice Day Tour was a concert tour by American rock Band Bon Jovi. It was to promote their ninth studio album Have A Nice Day. The tour took place between November 2005 and July 2006. The Band played to 2,002,000 fans, and the tour grossed a total of $109,000,000. The tour was the third most successful tour of the year, just behind The Rolling Stone's A Bigger Bang World Tour and U2's Vertigo Tour.
The set lists greatly varied between concerts, so after each show its set list was posted on the official website. Most concerts began with the song "Last Man Standing" from the Have a Nice Day record, followed by "You Give Love A Bad Name". "Livin' on a Prayer" was almost always played as the finale before any encores.

At the concert in Düsseldorf, Germany, the band played their longest song, "Dry County", for the first time in over ten years.

BONJOV002The final conert of the tour at New Jersey's Giants Stadium was the only concert at which the band played the Have a Nice Day song "I Am", so that they would fulfill their commitment of playing every song from the album on the tour.

At several of the band's summer stadium shows, the band was known to play extremely long setlists, some of them running nearly three hours, totaling approximately 25 songs, including encores that sometimes had as much as seven songs.

For the first North American leg of the tour as well as the UK dates of the European tour, each city had a local band open for Bon Jovi. The band had decided this for a chance to promote local talent. Canadian band Nickelback supported Bon Jovi on the European leg of the tour, as well as on the band's summer stadium tour in North America.
