The Wailers - Big Ting Man!!
The Wailers Band was the backing band for Bob Marley from 1974 until his death in 1981. When Bob Marley originally started singing with Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh on the album Catch A Fire and Burnin', they were known simply as The Wailers. After Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh no longer wanted to tour (for their own reasons) Chris Blackwell decided to market Bob Marley as a rock&roll band, and the name was changed to "Bob Marley & The Wailers".
The Wailers Band was led by Junior Marvin/Aston Barrett after the death of Bob Marley (May 11, 1981).
Today The Wailers Band continues to play live in concert, and in 2006 they played on 311's Summer Unity tour along with Pepper. Their Current lineup includes: Junior Marvin on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Al Anderson on Lead Guitar, Aston "Family Man" Barrett on Bass, Keith Sterling on Keys, Drummie Zeb on Drums, Marcia Griffiths on background vocals (aka Wailers Sister)
