Bobby Previte & Constellation Ensemble - Birmingham 02-04
Another chance to discover the diverse talents of the superb American jazz drummer and composer Bobby Previte, through two of his favourite projects, recorded at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham.
With his acclaimed Constellations Ensemble, Previte performs 23 jewel-like compositions for jazz orchestra. Considered to be Previte's masterpiece, The 23 Constellations of Joan Miro is his creative and emotional response to Miro's abstract and beautiful Constellation paintings.
In the other half of the programme, Previte gets funky with two of New York's most outstanding musicians; eight-string guitarist Charlie Hunter and DJ Logic.
Hunter's unique instrument (a hybrid of bass and guitar) and his rock-influenced style have attracted a cult following whilst DJ Logic has recorded and toured intensively with artists such as Don Byron and Medeski, Martin and Wood.
