Slayer: Preaching to the Perverted
No introduction necessary here, as most acknowledge Slayer as one of the premier thrash bands of all time, with Reign In Blood, their most popular album, universally regarded as a thrash classic. Cut from the same cloth as Metallica (the two debut albums do have similarities), and probably just as influential as Metallica, though clearly the musical directions of the two bands grew apart. The band's style has largely remained unchanged over the years, almost to the point of stagnation (noticeable on the relatively bland Divine Intervention -- while not bad at all, a sense of been-there-done-that can be felt), though the two albums since then are a bit more contemporary, while still retaining that classic Slayer style.
The Unholy Alliance is an annual heavy metal tour of Europe and North America, with the tag-line "Preaching to the Perverted". The tour is headlined by the thrash metal band Slayer, and features Children of Bodom, Thine Eyes Bleed, Lamb of God, Mastodon and In Flames in its current edition.
